Trails we Love Series - North County San Diego
Rodriguez Spur Truck Trail
Julian, Ca
( North San Digeo County )
This a a great trail to go wheelin with a friend like I did in July of 2021. It's not too far from our Oceanside shop and is a good warm up for some of the other trails in Anza Borrego State Park. If you go in the summertime be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated. Heck just bring a 10 gallon Yakima Road shower to take a refreshing shower at night when it's still 95 degrees in the desert. There are some great vistas along the trail so be sure to stop occasionally and take some photos. My friend from the beach showed me this trail, we conquered it with a Toyota FJ Cruiser and a long bed Taco. I learned the importance of radio communication and always staying within eye sight of your wheelin buddy. I also learned not to leave your phone on the back of the truck before taking off down a trail.
